EXAMPLE PROJECTS

Remove an old concrete driveway

The customer asked us to remove an old concrete driveway. Once we began work we discovered that it contained rebar which made the job much more difficult. We used cutting equipment to get through the rebar which then enabled us to finish the removal.

The Challenge: Having the right equipment to do the job.

The Result: The job was completed on time and the customer told us he thought our price was more than fair.

Horse Arena - Preparation and Planning

We measured the lot, noted elevations and took advantage of the land formations to minimize the work needed.  We advised the homeowner to on how big to make the arena and how far up a hillside to locate it.

The Challenge:  To utilize the land in the best way to minimize how much dirt we had to move around.

The Result: The homeowner commented that we knew what we were doing and that we paid attention to detail. She was very happy with our work.

Pole Barn and 150 foot access road

The owner is a landscaper who wanted the finished project to look attractive, appearing to look like part of the house.

The Challenge:  We had to be flexible and work with the owner to try different locations until he was satisfied that the result would be esthetically pleasing.  We also discovered that the existing drain handling rain runoff from the house was not functioning properly.  It was situated lower than the curb.  We excavated and moved it for him.

The Result: The customer commented that he liked that we kept him informed and was very satisfied with our ability to be flexible and meet his needs. He appreciated the work we did on the drain.

Pole Barn

The placement of this barn was constrained due to the County’s regulations on set-backs.   We worked with the County to get the permit.  The owner was concerned with the appearance of the work and we were concerned with the steepness of the grade.

The Challenge:  Reaching a balance between what the homeowner wanted, what the county required and what was necessary from an excavation point of view.

Result: The customer got the pole barn they wanted and were happy with.

80 feet of sidewalk

The developer could not sell the lot before installing a sidewalk.  We bid the job, coordinated with the County to inspect the work before pouring the concrete.

The Challenge: This was a straightforward job.

The Result: Job was accomplished in a very timely manner. The lot sold.

Six Lot Subdivision

Excavated and prepared a site for housing construction.

The Challenge:  This project had more than it’s fair share of challenges!

We experienced a land stabilization problem made worse by wet weather, so we had to remove dirt and replace it with rock to get better compaction.

In addition, City inspectors had concerns with erosion control so the client’s engineer had to change plans and revise grading.  We were flexible with these changes and built good relationships with the City officials in the process.

The Result: The job was successfully completed.
