Clackamas Women's Services Shelter Home

Clackamas Women's Services are a "bridge to hope" for victims of domestic and sexual violence.  They service women and children throughout Clackamas County with counseling, temporary shelter and numerous assistance programs.

Recently, CWS needed their shelter home kitchen remodeled to better serve their clients.  Double J Construction Inc had the privilege of coordinating and scheduling this remodel with many of their terrific business partners from the Oregon City Chamber of Commerce, the North Clackamas Chamber of Commerce and the Oregon Remodeler's Association.  In addition, CWS hired several wonderful businesses from other Chambers of Commerce as well as their partner networks.  The new kitchen will service multiple families at a time and be a huge improvement to the overall service provided by CWS during these transition times in the lives of these victims.

ReFit

ReFit (Remodeling for Independence Together) is a local non-profit organization that works with professional contractors, suppliers and individuals to perform projects allowing individuals to stay in their home.  Whether it be wider doorways, ramps, shower & bath modifications, lower kitchen cabinets, etc..., there are many minor changes that can make a major difference in the life of a person who is unable to manuever in and out of their home due to health constraints or wheel chair confinements.   All applicants are screened and have to qualify for the services offered.  Double J Construction Inc had the privilege of excavating for a ramp at a home of a local recipient.

Oregon Dream Makeover

Oregon Dream Makeover® is a non-profit home makeover organization, in which deserving recipients receive a home makeover.  Each makeover is an annual local event. Through donations from suppliers, sponsors and community involvement, they turn the home of the selected recipient into a new or remodeled home of their dreams that will help make the recipient feel truly at home, at peace, and in the comfort they deserve.

Double J Construction Inc had the privilege of serving as the general contractor of the first home makeover in Gladstone, Oregon in March 2009.  We want to say a special thank you to all of the sub-contractors, suppliers and the Oregon Dream Makeover® Board for doing such a fabulous job on this project and working together in a truly professional manner.  A majority of contractors on this project were working side-by-side with total strangers in sometimes challenging situations, so our hats off to all of them for their wonderful, giving spirit and teamwork.  We were also thrilled with the number of suppliers willing to donate their materials and labor to the project as well, especially in such a difficult economy.  It was truly a privilege and honor to be a part of this endeavor!
